Smirk always looks one step ahead because, quite often, he is. He notices the little things other people miss: the joke hidden in a conversation, the shortcut nobody spotted, the reason somebody is trying not to laugh.
He spends most of his time quietly observing before delivering one perfectly timed look. Smirk is mischievous rather than aggressive, clever rather than serious, and he would always rather outthink a problem than confront it head-on.
Nobody has ever successfully proved that Smirk actually knows more than everyone else. He simply enjoys letting everyone believe he does.
